The homeowner had an older General Electric electrical panel that was no longer working reliably. Some breakers were not tripping properly, and after troubleshooting the issue, we found that the problem was coming from the panel itself.
This project was completed for a residential home in Los Angeles, where an outdated electrical panel needed to be replaced for safety and reliability.
Because the panel was old, discontinued, and no longer a safe long-term option, Farashi Electric removed it and replaced it with a new Siemens panel and new breakers.
What We Found
During troubleshooting, we found several issues with the old panel:
- The panel was around 50 years old
- Some breakers were damaged or unreliable
- Breakers were not
- responding correctly during faults
- The panel was discontinued and no longer commonly supported
- Keeping the old panel created a safety concern
When a breaker does not trip when it should, the wiring can overheat before the power shuts off. That is the kind of “small issue” that quietly becomes a very expensive issue, because electricity apparently enjoys drama.
What We Did
Farashi Electric removed the old General Electric panel and installed a new Siemens electrical panel.
The work included:
- Removing the old panel
- Checking the existing wires and connections
- Installing the new Siemens panel
- Reconnecting the circuits
- Replacing the old breakers with new breakers
- Organizing the wiring inside the panel
- Testing the panel after installation
- Final Result
The homeowner now has a safer and more reliable electrical panel with new breakers and a cleaner setup. The new Siemens panel is easier to service in the future and removes the risk of depending on an old discontinued panel with faulty breakers.
